[ The sheer relief she feels once she finally hears from Bela... and maybe a little anger too because how dare Lucifer hurt the two people she cares about the most. It was a double whammy for her having them both go missing at the same time. ]
holy shit are you okay???? do you need a hug? do you want me to come over?
[ She's spent enough time with Tech to know he's recovered, now it's Bela's turn to be checked on. ]
of course it is! see you later and try to stay out of trouble until then, please?
[ Ava manages to wait at least three hours before she's too anxious to wait any longer. Luckily Tech kept her occupied but she's more than ready to see her friend. She comes bearing a bottle of booze, some chocolate and a box of tissues - all of which seem essential when comforting a friend from the movies she's watched.
After having to knock on her door with her foot because her hands are full, she waits. ]
[ It takes Bela longer than she likes to answer the door to Ava because moving still hurt and she doesn't want to over exert herself whilst she is recovering. Slowly, she opens the door to see her friend standing there with an armful of goodies. ]
Hi, Ava. Thanks for coming...and with gifts too. You're so sweet.
[ She smiles at her before standing aside to allow Ava space to enter. ]
[ A look of relief washes over Ava upon seeing her friend, even if she looks like she's still recuperating. ]
Hey! I couldn't come empty-handed. [ She's close to dropping the stuff in her hands, but she refuses Bela's help. ] I got it! Let me just set this all down so I can greet you properly.
[ Her gifts get put down on the nearest available surface, then she holds out her arms to Bela. ]
Permission for a gentle hug? [ In case anything too strong could hurt her. ]
[ Having people who cared about her is something that Bela has gotten used to over the past few months. Sometimes, she found it strange. ]
Permission absolutely granted, Ava.
[ She doesn't hesitate in stepping forward and accepting the hug from her friend, slipping her arms around Ava in a gentle embrace. It feels nice and Bela knows it will help her recovery. ]
Feel free to hold on for as long as you like. I really don't mind.
[ Bela says with a slight laugh, feeling all cried out from yesterday. Peter had been gifted with that experience and he had made her feel better. But she still wasn't back to her old self yet. ]
Going to go with options one and two - eating and drinking. Follow me to the couch with the goodies.
[ She indicates with her head towards the middle of the shared suite to a rather comfortable couch. Bela didn't sleep there the night before, as Peter insisted she stay with him. ]
[ She makes her way to said couch with her supplies (even the tissues, just in case). Once she's seated facing Bela with her knees against her chest, she starts the Ava Silva healing process by unscrewing the liquor bottle. Who needs glasses when you can drink straight from it? ]
I have no idea what this is, I just grabbed it from the bar... [ It'll be a surprise! She holds it out to Bela for the first swig. ]
So was it worth it? Whatever you did to get punished?
Ava, you probably shouldn't grab just any bottle from the bar. Last time I took some alcohol from the club, it was laced with aphro.
[ And yet she takes the offered bottle from her friend, taking a generous sip from it. If things start to feel a little warm and fuzzy, she'll let Ava know. Bela holds the bottle out to her. ]
Not at all. Because the only thing I think I did was snoop around Lucifer's home. I didn't steal, but that bastard deemed it fit to send his demons after me anyway.
[ Bela sucks in a breath, not wanting to cry again. ]
Well, damn. [ Ava really ought to be more careful. ]
We're in for a wild night. [ She jokes with a snort as she takes back the bottle, hoping the alcohol isn't laced with aphro because with no disrespect to Bela, it'd be kinda weird hooking up with someone she's called a sister, and she's sure Bela would feel the same way. ]
I should have done the snooping, not you or Tech. I can literally walk through walls. I could have found something and gotten away with it but instead you both got hurt... [ She feels guilty, like she should have been brave enough to do what they did. She has these unique powers others she could use to help, but what good is she using them for? She needs to do better. ]
[ Yeah, it would be really weird. Bela didn't think of Ava like that at all, beautiful and lovely as she is. ]
But what if you didn't get away with it? You don't know what eyes or ears Lucifer has in his mansion - if he has any spies. [ Other sinners maybe? Bela doesn't know for sure. ] Ava, please don't do anything reckless, even if you think you are helping. I would hate it if you got hurt like I did.
[ Tech probably handled it better and maybe he's healed by now. He is a god after all. ]
So I shouldn't kick Lucifer's ass? I bet I could...
[ Even if she failed, her abilities would help her heal quickly, but the thought of potentially being in a lot of pain scares her off that idea. Not to mention, Tech would hate it too if she got hurt, especially if it was from an act of vengeance. She's learning that being less selfish means staying safe to keep loved ones happy. ]
I guess revenge isn't the answer. [ She sighs, only to frown when Bela pins the blame on herself. He reaches out to squeeze her friend's hand. ] Hey, you made one slight error of judgment, but that doesn't mean you deserved what you got. He shouldn't have let any of us near his mansion if he didn't want us to explore it. Fuck him for teaching you a lesson that was his own damn fault. [ She'll happily defend Bela and Tech's actions, even if they were technically in the wrong. ]
[ Or at least take a good shot at him. Bela doesn't know the full extent of Lucifer's abilities and if he was even capable of being harmed. She's already had to make sure that Peter didn't try to seek vengeance on her behalf, hoping that she managed to convince him otherwise. No one should be harmed on account of her. ]
It was Lucifer's fault for putting the temptation in front of me. I'm a thief, Ava. Of course I was going to have a look around and see what Lucifer had in his mansion. It was also my first time there so I was curious.
[ Bela squeezes her hand in return. ]
But it means a lot knowing that you care. I'm so lucky to have people like you and others in this place.
[ She's glad Bela agrees with her that it's Lucifer's fault. ]
I'm lucky to have you too. [ She felt so lonely back home, but here she doesn't. It's a shitty situation they're in, but at least— ] We're in this together.
reply around the 9th Dec
[ Then comes another text. ]
Based on what you told me about Tech, I think I was punished for the exact same reason.

[ Bela is reluctant to give her friend even more of a chance to worry about her, but she knows Ava will because of how close they've gotten. ]
You can visit later if you like.

how much later is "later"? an hour? two hours? twenty minutes?
[ What is the protocol for visiting friends??? Ava has no clue. ]

[ She may not be the only possible visitor that Bela may see today so she's trying to balance it all out. ]
Is that alright?

[ Rather than an hour (that was just a joke), Ava lets go after a minute. ]
So what do you feel like? Eating, drinking or crying? [ The third option was the saddest but could also be therapeutic. ]
